  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup Daisy Sour Cream
  • 1 egg, beaten


Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, salt, nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Combine the brown sugar and sour cream in a large bowl. Add the beaten egg to the sugar and sour cream mixture. Add the dry ingredients to the sour cream mixture; stir until well blended. Pour the batter into an 8x8-inch nonstick cake pan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Because there is no butter oil or shortening in this cake, does not mean it is made without fat. There is loads of fat in sour cream.

I made this cake and it was easy, moist and delicious! I recieved a free sample from @influenster and came across this recipe and had to text it out! So glad I did! @dollopofdaisy #contest

I will definitely make this cake again. Came out nice and moist. I love that it has no butter or oil in it. I took and dusted it with powdered sugar right out of the oven and then seved it with applesauce on top. Made for a very yummy desert without a lot of guilt involved.
