  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups Daisy Sour Cream
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar


Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a small bowl, combine the beaten egg and sour cream. Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add the egg and sour cream mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir until just blended. Spoon mixture onto a heavily floured surface and cut into biscuits. Place on a well-greased sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes.

I normally do not use or buy sour cream but I received a coupon from Influenster for a free squeeze sour cream for testing purposes. I made this super easy biscuit recipe which came out great. They are crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. I used these biscuits to make strawberry shortcake. I used a larger scoop to portion the biscuits instead of cutting them into shape. I only baked them for 20 minutes instead of the suggested 25-30 minutes. Going forward, I'm going to use this recipe rather than a box mix.

I thought these biscuits turned out great and were easy to make. Based on another review I baked them at 400 degrees. I also saved time by spooning the mixture directly into a muffin pan. I had a large container of sour cream to use and this helped a lot. I will definitely make this again.

Biscuits were over cooked in 10 minutes at the 425 degree recommendation. There was little rise and a dense texture. One would think the supplier would come up with a better recipe for their product. Overall a waste of sour cream.

I really do like Old fashioned biscuits. They remind me of my time in france as a little girl when I ate them all day.
