I love creamed spinach, but the kind they make with cream cheese has always just been too heavy. I'm glad I found this recipe. My son does not like onions so I used onion powder to get the flavor I want without the minced onions. Additionally, I used fresh spinach instead of frozen, which made the draining process a little easier. I added half teaspoon of nutmeg because I think that's a must for this kind of sauce. Overall a very good rendition. I'd make this again.
I use a couple cans of spinach (drained really good) then, I add two scrambled eggs into the spinach. 1/3 cup Daisy Light Sour Cream. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook, and continue to stir until the eggs are well done, and you see no remaining liquid. Serve. This is a favorite of mine. The recipe above looks really great. Thanks for posting the recipe, I will definitely try it.
Couldn't be better or easier, but I added a dash of nutmeg, which to me is almost essential in any white cream sauce. Devoured with delight.
Just tried this recipe, and it's a keeper. Perfect with a small steak and onions. I made my wife very happy.
I love creamed spinach, by most recipes seem to call for a million ingredients that a never have on hand. This recipe is simple, it calls for basic ingredients, and the directions are easy to follow. The creamed spinach tastes great and was everything I hoped for. I will definitely be making this again.
I tried this recipe based on the reviews and I can honestly say that it was delicious. I was out of milk when I tried this recipe so I added more sour cream and reduced the flour. It turned out great! I will be making this recipe again for sure!
This was very simple and quick. I'm a college student learning to cook and it was very easy to put together. It turned out great!
This is just as good as the rich version. Easy and quick to make. Love!
The flour taste was very strong, but overall, a good recipe. I''d back the flour down to maybe 1 tablespoon.
I'm going to try this for the holidays! What a great idea for a side dish!
Thanks for your review.
