Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups Daisy Brand Sour Cream
  • 2/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup shortening, melted
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/4 cups cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

Beat the eggs, sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy in a large bowl. Add the vanilla, sour cream, melted better, and melted shortening. Mix well. Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda together in a separate bowl and gradually add to the sugar mixture. Stir in the chocolate chips. Stir in the nuts, if desired. Bake on greased sheet at 325 degrees for 10-12 minutes, until just set. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before removing from pan. *Optional - Try spreading prepared frosting between two cookies and sandwiching them together.

Absolutely delicious. Tried this recipe as I had extra sour cream (obviously a lot extra and used "Daisy Light Sour Cream.) The cookies are as light as a feather. Addictive would be a good adjective to describe these cookies. The recipe made 5 1/2 dozen cookies each using a generous tablespoon.
