Prep Time: 25 Minutes

Serves: 12 (4 tablespoons per serving)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped Cremini mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped oil-packed sun dried tomatoes
  • 1 garlics clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
  • 1 cup Daisy Light Sour Cream
  • 8 ounce package 1/3-less-fat cream cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Asiago cheese
  • 16 ounce loaf round loaf hearty bread

In a 10-inch nonstick skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the mushrooms, green onions, tomatoes and garlic. Cook for 3 minutes or until tender, stirring frequently. Reduce the heat to low. Stir the flour into the sour cream. Stir the sour cream into the vegetable mixture; heat until bubbly. Stir in the cream cheese and Asiago cheese. Cook until the cheese is melted and the mixture is thoroughly heated. Cut a 1/2-inch slice from the top of the bread. Hollow out the middle of the bread, leaving 3/4-inch sides to make a bowl. Spoon the dip into the bread bowl. Serve immediately with your favorite crackers, crostini or pieces of the bread removed from the bread bowl.

I'm not gonna lie- this is probably terrible for me. But I honestly don't care! This is one of the most amazing appetizers ever, and whenever I bring it to family events, it's the first plate to be cleared. It's great with crackers, bread, or even with veggies (sounds weird, but it isn't, I promise!)
